Oakwood Sod Farm, Inc., is owned and operated by Alan & Gary Wilber who started with 2 acres of fescue in a small corner of their farm in 1986.  Today we have over 500 acres and offer not only fescue sod, but also bluegrass, zoysia and bermudagrass. 

Local landscape contractors were our original customers, and are still the heart of our operation, although golf and athletic turf have become a larger factor in recent years.  We have supplied sod and turf services to almost every golf course on the Delmarva Peninsula, as well as to many others in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia.

Athletic fields are becoming a more important part of our business every year.  Strict liability laws have forced owners to demand the highest quality turf in order to limit injuries to athletes, and recent water restrictions are encouraging more use of bermudagrass and zoysia.

We have unparalleled experience in developing athletic surfaces in the Mid-Atlantic region, and are proud to have served the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Redskins, RFK Stadium, University of Maryland, and others who demand premium quality turf.
